First Trimester Ultrasound

It takes place between 10 th and 12 th week of pregnancy and lasts about 30 minutes. This is the first time you become aware that you carry a small life in you, at the time of the first ultrasound your uterus is still very small, and the doctor uses this technique for checking, so

It allows him to:

  • Precisely date the beginning of your pregnancy and therefore the date of your baby birth
  • Determine the number of fetuses, perhaps you can expect twins
  • Check the vitality of your baby by listening to the heartbeat, you'll finally be able to listen to his little heart
  • Locate the placenta and check your genitals
  • Detect any anomalies in checking, such as the thickness of skin at the back of the baby's neck. Thickened skin is commonly associated with Downs syndrome and other chromosome abnormalities (trisomy 21).

The 1st Week Of Pregnancy: 3 Weeks Of Amenorrhea

You

There is no indication yet that you are pregnant. The only physical change that may take place is the increased volume of your breasts.

Although some will have an instant impression of being pregnant, for others the day will resemble the previous one. Your uterus weighs is 50 grams and no weight gain is apparent.

Your baby

Your baby settled quietly. A few hours after fertilization of an egg by sperm, egg will begin to divide into two cells identical to eventually look like a small ripe.
The fertilized egg will descend the fallopian tubes to the uterus and will focus on the walls of the uterus.this is the phase of implantation. At this stage, the embryo is measuring only 0.1 mm.

First Pregnancy Test To Do

To find out if you are pregnant, pregnancy tests are your friend, they are practical and you must use them to obtain the most reliable possible result.

How does a pregnancy test work?

The pregnancy test can detect the presence of the human chorionic gonadotropin, or HCG hormone, secreted only in cases of pregnancy and can be detected about ten days after fertilization.

The test is easy to do, you must collect a small sample of clean, midstream urine in a sterile plastic cup and put a chemically prepared testing strips into the sample of urine and wait for the result displayed. If it is positive, a specific symbol will appear in the window reading (often a blue). If negative, you can do another test some time later because such a result does not confirm you’re not pregnant.

Moreover, if it is positive, you have a good chance of becoming pregnant because the test is reliable to 99%. To confirm the result, ask your doctor who will prescribe a blood test to confirm and date your pregnancy.

The HCG Hormone

The hormone HCG or beta-HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone secreted during pregnancy. It has a particular role, and his strength helps reveal a multitude of elements, whether or not associated with pregnancy.

What is the hormone HCG and what is his role? The hormone HCG is secreted at the time of implantation, when the embryo attaches to the uterine wall, which will become the placenta. It’s role is to maintain the corpus luteum and to secrete progesterone itself for implantation. Clearly, if the egg is fixed and that the embryo develops, the body needs progesterone, which requires the corpus luteum, itself dependent on the hormone HCG. Its role in pregnancy is therefore essential.

The hormone HCG: A formidable indicator

Firstly, the hormone HCG, which can detect a pregnancy because it is present in the blood about ten days after fertilization and in urine a few days later. So this hormone is what pregnancy test (urine or clinical blood test) are looking for It can then let’s you know the exact date of the beginning of your pregnancy through the determination of its rate because it varies in a very precise way. It’s level also helps ensure smooth functioning of pregnancy, because if there is a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, the level of hormone HCG can gives early warning.

Finally, thanks to its level between the 15th and 17th week, the hormone HCG is even a risk indicator of trisomy 21! If the rate indicates a risk, amniocentesis can be prescribed to confirm the anomaly, or not.

Doubts !!!

I have 2 weeks late from my menstrual period, but I do not feel any signs of pregnancy. Does this excludes a possible pregnancy? Starting from how many days of amenorrhea these signs usually appear?

The fact that you don't feel anything does not mean you're not pregnant, "felt" is highly variable depending on the women. The delay in the appearance of signs is also variable. The first signs are appearing classically are breast with sensitive nipple and breast tension. Why not take a pregnancy test which will verify your doubts?

Varicose Veins During Pregnancy

If pregnancy is a great happiness, it is sometimes accompanied by small concerns. And the legs are paying the price! Pressures strongest on the lower body, disrupted hormone secretion, weakened veins… All these factors increase the risk of varicose veins. It is vital to prevent as possible appearance.

We are not equal faced with the appearance of varicose veins. The disorder is indeed far more prevalent among women than among men.

A perilous period for veins

The risk is even more important in pregnant women. Pregnancy is a real disruption to the body and hormonal secretion totally disrupted. The amount of sex hormones secreted by the body is much higher during this period. The estrogen promote the emergence of oedema and progesterone tends to dilate the veins significantly.

These disorders continue generally until the child's birth and they explain the appearance of venous disease. The risk factor increases with the number of pregnancies completed: it is 23% at the 1 st pregnancy by 27% at 2 and 3 pregnancy, and 31% at the 4 th pregnancy.

Excess weight in pregnant women is also a factor likely to cause edema, cumbersome, and therefore varicose vein. The compression of veins from the small basin by the growing uterus also explains the occurrence of this type of pathology.

the various ways to reduce risks

Pregnancy is a particularly dangerous period for the veins and your doctor will prescribe appropriate treatment: bottom of contention, veinotoniques drugs, creams …

Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes and prefer the fuller trousers and do not wear socks. you must leave space for your legs! The stagnation of blood promotes blood flow down can go through small veins and thus provoke their expansion.

The drugs available today are very effective and the use of veinotoniques is particularly important and it is important to follow his treatment during pregnancy (and even after by the way!). These drugs exert a local anti-inflammatory, stimulate venous tone and protect the endothelial cells lining the inside of veins. The veinotoniques relieve symptoms.

Finally, it is important to avoid contact with the heat. Indeed, the legs of pregnant women tend to "blow" under the influence of heat and weight increased. It is also recommended to make some care lymphatic drainage and algae wraps so as to energize, reduce and relieve the legs.

The venous disease can be a real pain, exacerbated during pregnancy. These few simple and specific processes can quickly relieve pain. That is why it is essential to continue to treat the disease with all possible means. And these nine months pass calmly.

Fungal Vaginal Infection

Seven women out of ten suffer at least once in their life vaginal fungal infections, a common condition during pregnancy. How to overcome? What are the risks for the baby? All the answers to your questions.

In most cases, vaginal fungal infections are nevertheless particularly annoying on a daily basis.

An ideal time for the emergence of fungal infections

The vaginal fungal infections are caused by a proliferation of fungi often in small numbers in the vagina. They are characterized by itching local inside or at the entrance to the vagina or tingling at the vulva. The vaginal secretions become white, viscous and very abundant. The emergence of these fungal infections is promoted by the hormone disorders that may occur during periods of rule, menopause and especially when you are pregnant.

Indeed, the significant increase in estrogen and progestin during pregnancy causes a change in the vaginal wall, weakening the local immunity. Moreover, this hormone secretion disrupted changes the composition of vaginal secretions and promotes fungal infections.

In fact, it is mainly during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy and during the period following childbirth that the risks are greatest.

Each fungus has it treatment!

It is important to understand that each fungus has it treatment. No need to call your best friend who had exactly the same thing 3 months ago! The therapeutic care is different depending on the type of fungus responsible for the infection.

It is essential therefore to consult his gynaecologist for receiving appropriate treatment. Most often, it will consist of a cream and an egg. During pregnancy, it is imperative to remain vigilant against the many drug-indications in this delicate period.

Every day it is vital to keep an intimate hygiene package! Use a neutral soap and non-fragrant. Also Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes, they lead to the emergence of wetlands because not enough ventilated. According to the same principle, be sure to dry you out of the shower and not keep your wet bathing suit for too long on you.

A vaginal fungus poses no risk to the healthy development of the fetus. However, your child may find themselves infected during childbirth. It is therefore essential to well treat its pathology and follow the advice of your doctor!

Constipation and Bloating Intestinal During Pregnancy

During your first week of pregnancy you may experience this physical discomfort, it's natural so don't worry :)

The intestinal bloating

Linked to intestinal fermentation, they can be reduced by eating small bites, and avoiding certain foods (turnips, corn, fried, sweet desserts, cakes, candies, cauliflower, cabbage, pulses, beans, asparagus etc.)..

Constipation

It is very common during pregnancy, encouraged by the hormonal changes and that causes a lowering of intestinal contractions.

To remedy this, food must be balanced and include foods rich in cellulose fibers: fruits, vegetables or bread. An abundant moisture is also needed: drink enough water.

Be careful not to take stimulant laxatives or irritants. If necessary, it is preferable to use mucilages or laxatives and lubricants. Small enemas are sometimes necessary. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor.

The Postpartum Depression Can Affect Child Development

The mood of a depressed new mother can affect the development of her child for several years, result from a work at Concordia University in Montreal and at the American University of Iowa.

Postpartum depression can happen anytime within the first year after childbirth. A woman may have a number of symptoms such as sadness, lack of energy, trouble concentrating, anxiety, and feelings of guilt and worthlessness. Postpartum depression often affects a woman’s well-being and keeps her from functioning well for a longer period of time and needs to be treated by a doctor. Counseling, support groups, and medicines are things that can help.

The study, led by David Forman, a professor of psychology at Concordia University, shows that the success of psychotherapy in a depressed mother is not enough to protect its relationship with the baby, and that his first impressions compared to his newborn can survive for years.

Researchers say that their results are important because they show that depressed mothers are more likely to perceive their babies wrong and find them difficult.

The work focused on 157 mothers, six months after childbirth. Two-thirds who were suffering from postpartum depression have benefited from a short psychotherapy, which proved very effective in relieving depression.

However, despite their recovery, their sensitivity towards their babies did not automatically improved and they have continued to try very hard.

The depressed mothers also felt that their children were less committed to them.

According to the researchers, these results are particularly worrying since it show that the link between mother her child remains and
marked by a postpartum depression and child development will be affected. The researchers believe, however, that some of these difficulties can be overcome.

The study, published in the spring edition of the journal Development and Psychopathology, "reveals that a rapid response, before the mother is convinced that her child is difficult, and adding a treatment accompanied by parental assistance can promote child development.

After childbirth, 70 to 80 % of women experiencing extreme fatigue called "baby blues". Mixed feelings of depression, anxiety, anxiety and guilt, this condition can last several days, but gradually fades. However, between 6 and 10 % of new mothers develop a more severe postnatal depression, a form of major depression for which treatment is necessary.

Pregnant Vacation

You are pregnant, not sick! You should enjoy your vacation. But without forgetting the words master of your future programme: caution and restraint

The mother is not sick, and when her pregnancy was proceeding normally there is no reason to prohibit physical activity "reasonable". Don't conclude that a shift of 500 km in a modern car on the motorway will cause dramatic interruption of a pregnancy without history!

Arrange to travel "comfortable". Stretch your legs, avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes and preserve you heat. A stop every two hours - also extremely advisable for any driver - you will also promote your traffic by 10 to 15 minutes walk in the shade. And if you're tired, or near term, take the train or plane. However, remember that the course of the 8th months passed, airlines would not accept you on board ...

Be Careful

Do not try tennis or volleyball on the beach. Not only because of Waterfalls they may lead, but also because of their "sports arrest" brutal. It is better you indulge in activities to a continuing nature that promote the training of muscles long and looking for endurance. Prudence and moderation, therefore, there is no shortage of exciting activities to help you preserve your workout without unnecessarily shake Baby!

The Care Of Newborn

The arrival of a baby is disrupting the lives of parents. A big fear is not properly taking care of the baby. But with patience, tenderness and a minimum of information, the task is accomplished with happiness. Here are some tips for taking care of the baby.

The umbilical cord

Generally, the baby tends to lose the umbilical cord between the 3rd and 12th days of his arrival in the world. To avoid any possible infection, it should be washed with water and soap at least once a day.

Once dry, cover the cord with a sterile tape to which you add alcohol to 70 degrees. The strip must be changed whenever necessary.

Once the umbilical cord fell, continue treating the umbilical scar in the same way until the band become completely clean. This happens usually the fourth or the fifth day.

It is important to monitor the appearance and smell of the umbilical cord. If redness, secretions or bad smells, it is necessary to consult the pediatrician.

Clean body

The newborn must be washed daily. Prepare a water bath at 36 ° C and use a neutral pH soap specifically for baby. The room temperature should vary between 22 and 24 ° C.

Maintain a perfect hygiene by making a change diapers and frequent cleaning of the area. After cleaning, apply a protective cream on the skin of the baby.

Baby cloths

The clothing of newborns must be comfortable and wide to enable it to move around freely.

Opt for clothes in cotton, wool can cause irritation in the skin.

The newborn catches cold easily in the first few days. This requires that these clothes are adapted to the temperature climate.

Nails

The baby's nails should be cut frequently with care to avoid it from scratch. Complete this task when he is asleep in order to prevent any risk.

The room

The Chamber of newborns must be quiet and well illuminated. Try to ventilate each day.

The bed

For the bed of the newborn, choose a firm mattress, without pillows or toys inside.

Take care not to cover it excessively and not to cover their heads during sleep.

It is recommended that babies spend the first 6 months in the bedroom of their parents, it facilitates breastfeeding and care during the night.

Your Baby Has Trouble Falling Asleep? Avoid Drugs!

The hydroxyzine, known as atarax, is now sold as hypnotic as a syrup for children who have difficulty falling asleep. In the latest issue of the journal Prescrire, its editors denounced the side effects of treatment among younger, and a packaging unsuited.

"The effectiveness of hydroxyzine is not demonstrated while side effects are numerous and sometimes serious convulsions, somnolences daylight, hypersensitivity reactions…" Nothing really glossy sum. As for packaging, it does not meet the basic needs of security, since it is a product intended for children. "The bottle is not equipped with a plug-security, which exposes them to increased risk of poisoning. The oral syringe is graduated in millilitres while the dosage is expressed in milligrams, which raised fears of overdoses by mistake conversion. " In reality to deal with problems falling asleep in children, it is better to strengthen the health advice that "expose them to dangerous drugs".

Vomiting

The mild vomiting:

They are common in early pregnancy symptoms, they affect 30 to 50% of women of the 6 th to the 14 th week of amenorrhea (after the beginning of the last menstrual period). Some medications prescribed by a doctor can be used to fight against these nausea.

The abundance and timing of these disorders vary, they generally do not have serious effects on the overall status of women.

The severe vomiting:

In rare cases, vomiting take a more serious. They occur most often after each meal and changes of position. They are accompanied by increased salivation, constipation and a fetid breath.

The evolution of severe vomiting is variable. In most cases there is a total healing on
the 3 rd or 4 th month. Sometimes there is contrary to a worsening, with a weight loss and dehydration, a condition which deteriorates, a breathing and pulse, which is accelerating while the blood pressure down and that the urine becomes less abundant. Unrest biological also appear to take blood. In these serious cases, the treatment requires hospitalization.

Breastfeeding, Beautiful Teeth For Baby

We do not say it enough: breastfeeding is the best way to feed a child up to 6 months minimum.

The mother's milk contains everything that the baby needs on the nutritional plan to have a healthy bone and dental.

Another advantage is requesting more effort than bottle feeding, sucking on breast promotes the development of facial muscles and jaws. The teeth of babies fed by their mothers are better aligned and thereafter require less care orthodontic! If, despite everything you opt for the bottle, choose a dummy whose form is the closest possible to that of the nipple.

Expectant Mother, Take Care Of Your Plate!

Pregnancy is not a disease, but it is a biological and anatomical change that upsets the nutritional needs of the mother. In short, this is not the time to embark on a regime! And even less to eat or drink anything.

To begin with, outlaw alcohol! The role of the latter, even at very low dose, is now ample evidence in the appearance of Fetal alcohol syndrome. Which strikes each year in many developed countries where alcohol is consumed freely, more than 3 children on 1 000. Do not coffee: a maximum of 2 cups per day.

While you prepare for the happy event, it is essential that you adopt a diet "diversified, balanced and reasonable":

• Meat, fish, eggs provide protein and iron. They must consume daily.

• Dairy products, is calcium and protein. But they are also… fat. Eat out regularly but not abuse, and prefer products alleviated or skimmed.

• The slow sugars of starchy foods are the main "fuel" of the fetus. Eat-in at least once a day.

• Fruits and vegetables provide fast sugars, vitamins and minerals. Their fibers maintain intestinal transit. Five per day at least, as always…

• Fats finally are indispensable for your child brain devlopment, but also to the mother.

Again, this is not a reason to abuse: they should be well balanced and varied diet should meet your needs. Sure, however, the intakes of iodine, iron, folic acid (vitamin B9), calcium and vitamin D. When in doubt, talk with your doctor.

The Weight Of Newborn Linked To The Mother Before Pregnancy

The baby's weight at birth is more related to the weight of the mother before pregnancy as pounds taken during pregnancy, according to preliminary results of a study presented Tuesday Taking pounds is usually monitored during pregnancy to avoid having a baby too big and difficult childbirth.

"Taking weight during pregnancy has finally relatively little influence on the body of the baby at birth," says Marie-Aline Charles, director of research Inserm which coordinates the study EDEN.

"It was only from 15 kg (maternal weight gain) they begin to see an impact and more than 19 kg that has a clear influence on the weight of the baby," says she.
In fact, surprise, according to the researcher, is the importance of weight (body mass index) of the mother before conception. Thus, an obese woman before getting pregnant, might give birth to a baby too big (more than 4 kg term) and having a difficult childbirth.
In addition, during pregnancy, obese women take on average far fewer pounds than women scarce, according to the study.

The women were overweight or obese have an increased risk of diabetes and hypertension during pregnancy. This diabetes, usually transitory, may reappear, in your 50-60 years. As big baby, in case of gestational diabetes in the mother, he incur a risk of diabetes in adulthood.
In less than ten years, the weight of mothers has increased significantly in 1993, 14% of mothers weighed at least 70 kg in 2003, they were 21%.

Among women of high body mass, there is also an increased rate of hospitalization during pregnancy and caesarean section before or during labor (x 2). Newborns of obese mothers are more frequent and neonatal resuscitation.

EDEN The study involving about 2,000 mothers will follow about 1,500 children up to age 5. The record is for 2008-2011, according to officials who seek additional funding.
Driving with two medical teams maternity Poitiers and Nancy, the study examines many factors (nutrition, environment and psycho-social emotional, toxic ...) can play a role in the development and future health of the child .

Meanwhile, the small weight (particularly encouraged by maternal smoking) is associated with an increased risk in adulthood of hypertension, diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

The Prolonged Breastfeeding Promotes The Cognitive Development Of Children

A study by a researcher Montreal has confirmed that prolonged breastfeeding promotes cognitive development and intelligence of children.

The work of Dr. Michael Kramer of McGill University in Montreal, confirmed that and in his study, the largest ever conducted on the subject, concludes that breastfeeding produces a higher intelligence quotient of children and improving their academic performance, said a press release from McGill University.

"Our study is the most blatant evidence to date that prolonged breastfeeding and exclusive makes children more intelligent," said Dr. Kramer, professor of pediatrics, epidemiology and biostatistics at the Faculty of Medicine McGill University.
Some 14,000 children were followed for six and a half years in a thirty hospitals and clinics of Belarus, for this study whose findings are published in the latest issue of the American journal Archives of General Psychiatry.

Half of the mothers had been exposed to a program to encourage breastfeeding. The others have continued to receive post-natal usual. This method has allowed, according to researchers, assessing the effects of breastfeeding on children's development, but the results are affected by factors such as level of intelligence of the mother or his interaction with the infant.

The children's cognitive development was measured by means of intelligence tests carried out by their pediatricians and then by scores of teachers on their academic capabilities. The results in both cases were best in the group randomly selected to be offered a promotion of reastfeeding. The link between breastfeeding and intelligence is a much-debated topic, recognizes Dr. Kramer. But he argued that the majority of studies hitherto associations, while the randomness of it establishes a causal link between breastfeeding and intelligence.

Chances Of Getting Pregnant Fast

Some site claim that they will give you quick tips on how to get pregnant faster or tips to double your chance of getting pregnant fast, but in reality if you're in a normal healthy women there is two important factors that you should be careful about them. First it depends on you and your partner's level of fertility, then it come on what time of the month you're engaging in intercourse, this is really important because in this period the woman is fertile, also know as the ovulation period.

Women tend to ovulate mid-cycle; however, it is more accurate to say that they ovulate fourteen days before menstruation. Women have been known to ovulate at any time during their cycle, including during menstruation, although this is unusual. In terms of conception, fertility depends on three factors: a healthy egg, healthy sperm, and favorable cervical mucus. A woman ovulates once a cycle. The egg lives twelve to twenty-four hours and then disintegrates if not fertilized. Under favorable cervical mucusconditions (cervical mucus nourishes and guides the sperm, which would otherwise die in about a half-hour or never reach the egg), sperm can survive as long as five days within the body.

I will try to give you more information in my next post, but these two factors are really the more important for getting pregnant fast.

Your Diet May Influence Your Child Sex

British researchers at the Universities of Exeter and Oxford found that women with low-calorie diet including regular breakfasts, have more chance of having a girl. This studies show also that the child sex is influenced by the mother diet and that the more it is high-calorie, the more there is chance of having a boy.

In studying 740 first-time pregnancies, the researchers found 56 percent of women with high-calorie diets at the time of conception had boys, compared to 45 percent of women who had low-calorie diets. Women who had sons also were more likely to consume nutrients including potassium, calcium, and vitamins C, E, and B12, the researchers said.

So what do you prefer a Girl or a Boy? huh.. I think a have guessed: D

Sex During Pregnancy

Can I have Sex during Pregnancy? the short answer is Yes and No :D

It depend on your pregnancy, if it is a normal or a risky pregnancy, but sex is considered safe during all stages of pregnancy, this doesn't mean you'll necessarily want to have it, some women can feel uncomfortable as doing it and some have more desire of it, this desire fluctuates during certain stages in the pregnancy, In this context some studies indicate a second-trimester increase, preceding a decrease in sexual desire.

Despite there sexual desire some couples worry about whether having intercourse will hurt the baby or wonder if the baby can feel it. In a normal pregnancy you don't have to worry about this because the baby is protected from the thrusting of sex by the amniotic fluid in the womb and by the woman's abdomen.

The Safe Way:

Pregnant couples should adapt their sexual positions. After five months, resting on the back can decrease the blood supply to the uterus. Sex positions such as side positions that support the abdomen or with her on top --- which doesn't put pressure on the abdomen --- may be safer. Of course, pregnant women should always avoid lying directly on their abdomens.

It is better to contact your doctor if you're unsure whether sex is safe for you and you should keep communicating your desires with your partner for any questions or concerns about sex, during and after a pregnancy.

Getting Pregnant, Are You Serious About It ??

Getting pregnant can be very frustrating for some women and they will try everything to become pregnant like special vitamin, some type of diet, some type of exercise, every thing that they think will get them pregnant and some of these women can go further until they experience some false pregnancy symptoms. First Trimester Of Pregnancy

First trimester of pregnancy begin from week 1 to the end of week 12, this first week is actually your menstrual period. Because your expected delivery date (EDD) is calculated from the first day of your last period, this week counts as part of your 40-week pregnancy even though your baby hasn't been conceived yet. during this period you may experience cramping, morning sickness and all your early pregnancy symptoms.

You must begin improving your diet and adding vitamin supplements such as folic acid, iron and you must also see your doctor because most miscarriages occur during this period.

As i will always will say try to keep things natural and simple for a healthy pregnancy.

Weight Gain During Pregnancy First Week

Weight gained during pregnancy is normal/inevitable and vary from women to women, gaining the right amount of weight is a good sign that your baby is getting all the nutrients he or she needs and is growing at a healthy rate.

How much weight you need to gain depends on various factors, including your pre-pregnancy weight and body mass index (BMI). Your health and your baby's health also play a role. You can expect during your normal pregnancy a weight gain about 10 to 12 kilograms (22–26 lb).

Where does it go?

This is not the weight gain during pregnancy first week, but general weight gain to expect:

  • Baby 8 pounds
  • Placenta 2-3 pounds
  • Amniotic fluid 2-3 pounds
  • Breast tissue 2-3 pounds
  • Blood supply 4 pounds
  • Fat stores for delivery and breastfeeding 5-9 pounds
  • Uterus increase 2-5 pounds

Total 25 to 35 pounds

What To Eat ?

I’m not a doctor but as I will always say, keep things natural, try to eat fruit they are rich with vitamin, spinach, salad with soy nuts or black beans, raisins, cheese and crackers, dried fruit, and ice cream/yogurt, fish and try to add condiments to your meal, such as butter or margarine, cream cheese, gravy, sour cream, and cheese.

Keep things light, natural for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Should I Lose Weight When I'm Pregnant ?

Some women with fears of weight gain when pregnant tend to lose weight during theirs pregnancy, this is wrong, because insufficient weight gain can compromise the health of the fetus and put your health and pregnancy at risk.

You can work with a health professional to ensure that pregnancy does not trigger disordered eating and plan healthy diet and exercise.
