Pregnancy is not a disease, but it is a biological and anatomical change that upsets the nutritional needs of the mother. In short, this is not the time to embark on a regime! And even less to eat or drink anything.
To begin with, outlaw alcohol! The role of the latter, even at very low dose, is now ample evidence in the appearance of Fetal alcohol syndrome. Which strikes each year in many developed countries where alcohol is consumed freely, more than 3 children on 1 000. Do not coffee: a maximum of 2 cups per day.
While you prepare for the happy event, it is essential that you adopt a diet "diversified, balanced and reasonable":
• Meat, fish, eggs provide protein and iron. They must consume daily.
• Dairy products, is calcium and protein. But they are also… fat. Eat out regularly but not abuse, and prefer products alleviated or skimmed.

• The slow sugars of starchy foods are the main "fuel" of the fetus. Eat-in at least once a day.
• Fruits and vegetables provide fast sugars, vitamins and minerals. Their fibers maintain intestinal transit. Five per day at least, as always…
• Fats finally are indispensable for your child brain devlopment, but also to the mother.
Again, this is not a reason to abuse: they should be well balanced and varied diet should meet your needs. Sure, however, the intakes of iodine, iron, folic acid (vitamin B9), calcium and vitamin D. When in doubt, talk with your doctor.
